Richard is a fully qualified and experienced Sports Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach, and his work has helped athletes at all levels – from youth sports to the professional and Olympic ranks – achieve their highest levels of performance in a variety of sports.
ln his role as a Sports Therapist, Richard combines manual therapy with corrective exercise, as this is a cornerstone of his treatment philosophy and the optimal recovery and prevention of injury.
Further to his work at Coast, Richard is strength and conditioning coach for the English Institute of Sport, working with the Olympic diving squad in preparation for the London 2012 Olympic games.
Richard specialized and subsequently has extensive experience of working with young and developing athletes and has a clear philosophy of the importance of educating sound movement patterns and developing strong and robust athletes at a young age.
Although prepared in a variety of bodies of knowledge, Richard specializes in preventative and rehabilitative strategies to reduce incidence of injury. Furthermore, he is a specialist in strength and power adaptation, particularly jumping biomechanics and performance.

Richard graduated from the University of Chichester with a BSc (hons) in Sports Therapy.
Richard received his Master’s Degree in Strength and Conditioning Science with a concentration in Post-activation potentiation (PAP) and separately the relative age effect (RAE) in developmental athletes through St Mary’s University, Twickenham..
