Naturopathic Nutrition is an alternative therapy that focuses on natural remedies and the body's ability to heal and maintain general good health and wellbeing.
Naturopathic philosophy favours a personalised holistic approach and seeks to identify and treat the root causes of a disease or condition, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Naturopathic Nutrition can be used to treat a wide range of conditions including skin disorders such as psoriasis or eczema, arthritis, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, asthma, colds and bronchitis, allergies and digestive problems including constipation, diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndromeas well as chronic disease.
What are the benefits?
Naturopathic Nutrition aims to clear and cleanse the body through a range of natural interventions such as diet, the use of nutritional supplements and techniques. It is a natural, non-invasive therapy.
How can nutritional therapy help?
Naturopathic Nutrition helps the body to eliminate waste products and toxins and then, by making appropriate lifestyle / dietary changes, gives the body the opportunity to heal itself.
What does treatment involve?
There will be an initial consultation (usually lasting up to one and a half hours) which will include a detailed case taking and health history. This may involve details of diet, lifestyle, habits and bodily system functioning, including specific organs, with a focus on what your specific requirements are. This information is then used to prescribe the necessary advice, herbs, supplements, dietary and lifestyle changes to restore your optimum health.
Sue was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 24 and was advised that she would be in a wheelchair by the age of 30. After going down the route of alopathic medicine for a number of years with no improvement in her condition she started investigating alternative therapies.
This led her to make changes in her diet and seek Chiropractic assistance. Within two weeks of making the changes she noticed a marked improvement in her symptoms and has now been symptom-free for 16 years.
This disease started an interest in nutrition for Sue and she completed her Diploma in Nutritional Healing and is a member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT).
She will take you through a 6 stage program to gently cleanse and rid your body of toxins so you feel energised and healthy!
The classes will inform you:
• Why detoxing is important
• The easiest and safest way to detox
• How to maintain a healthy lifestyle
Sue will issue information hand-outs at the end of each class which will include easy recipes and ideas. If you are unable to make a class, the hand-out will still be available for you.
You will be asked to keep a diary of how you feel from one week to the next, which will ensure Sue can give you the very best advice for you individually.
The 6 week course will be held every Thursday, starting on 17th March 2011 at 6.30pm.
