What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors improve general health and offers relief from back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip and knee pain.
Chiropractors use manual therapies that appear to concentrate on spinal joint function. However, their apparent fascination with the spine is because there are 31 pairs of nerves that exit each side of the spine, which innervate muscles, ligaments and skin. These same nerve roots also innervate organs and glands. When the spine or any joint in the body is not functioning
correctly it can cause inflammation and pain due to disturbed nerve function.
A Chiropractor appies gentle pressure to a specific joint of the spine or limb that is dysfunctional. This results in reduced pain and inflammation and restored function to the affected area relieving back pain, migraines, knee or shoulder problems. However, something to keep in mind, only 10% of each nerve root that exits the spine stimulate pain. The other 90% regulate other bodily functions which when disturbed are not so easily detected.
Therefore don’t think you have to be in pain to benefit from Chiropractic care. Chiropractic is not just for pain relief; it’s for health.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a technique, which uses muscle testing for evaluating areas of dysfunction within the body.
George H. Goodheart D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) introduced this method in 1964. Since then, research in AK has shown that many basic treatment methods in Chiropractic can produce immediate improved neuromuscular function, which can be evaluated using manual muscle testing.
AK uses muscle testing in combination with other standard methods of diagnosis - history, physical examination, blood tests, X-rays and any other relevant investigations to evaluate our structural, mental/emotional and chemical functions. Manipulation, diet, orthomolecular supplementation, homoeopathy, meridian system, exercise and education can be used therapeutically to help restore balance and maintain well being.
AK provides a system whereby the Practitioner can work with the Patient, thereby actively involving the Patient in their treatment. This involvement lends a greater sense of responsibility by the Patient for his/her health and body awareness.
