What is Stress?

The Health and Safety Executive tells us stress is "the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demand placed on them".
What are the signs?
Tell tale signs of stress include always being late; feeling tired and irritable, memory loss or simply never having enough time. All too often our pursuit of the 'good life' leaves us in clutches of stress as we try to create that all important work/life balance. How does it feel?
When we are stressed we are in a state of emotional or mental strain. We are in overdrive. Symptoms include racing heart, shallow breathing, high blood pressure, insomnia, headaches, anxiety and, in some cases, eventually depression.

A stress management program can help with the following:

  • Managing stress
  • Relaxation
  • Motivation
  • Life coaching
  • Panic attacks
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Anger management
  • Nervous tension
  • Realising limiting beliefs
  • Relationship confidence
  • Creating success in your life

Paula will help you to focus on the solutions to your problems; teach you healthy coping strategies; support and motivate you to achieve your goals; use tried and tested techniques to design a stress management plan to best suit your needs considering:

  • Guided imagery meditations, to support changing the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that no longer support you.
  • A range of stress management diagnostic tools designed to find out if your stress is mainly physical, mental or emotional.
  • A range of strategies for enhancing interpersonal skills in areas such as: conflict management, assertiveness, confidence and influencing skills.
  • A personalised energy plan to achieve optimum energy levels.  For example meditation, energy balancing, nutrition and exercise.
  • We also work with relaxation training discovering the power of meditation, breath awareness, detachment and thought control.

Paula offers Stress Management consultancy on a one-to-one basis and also runs regular group courses.
